Did a mini Biathlon today, swiming with the youngest one this morning, then an hour and a half out on the road.

Wasn't looking forward to it, as it was 5 deg this morning, but apart from cold feet at the end of the ride, it was pretty pleasant. Light winds all around my course and even at the end I was feeling comfortable in the gear I was in.

Then watched the track cycling on the BeeB, tremendous mens team pursuit. Which reminded me that I needed to register for Olympic tickets, if I'm going to see any events.

The Road Race & TT is free to watch, but I think I'm going to treat myself to seeing the mens pursuit on the track, as it'll be the only chance in my lifetime to see it at the Olympics.

Apart from the individual pursuit, its my favourite event.

I'd like to thank the UCI for getting rid of the IP, bunch of tunc's

Would love to see some of the track action but the tickets are blood expensive - cheapest is £50 I think.

However the road race looks like it will be coming within about 40 miles of where I live so will have a nice ride out to watch it

Yep, £325 for AAA tickets which I guess are front row

But for once the Velodrome is within easy reach, unlike Manchester and the schedule of the track events means I can catch the train there and back, unless I see qualifiying & finals.

So I won't need to fork out for a hotel room, even if you could find one available. Prices are going to go up for even a basic room.

The RR & TT, I'll probably stay at my sisters to see those.

Just to say I have just munched my packet of Haribo Supermix that came with my latest order . Wiggle always seem to put them in.

Eeeww! I read about it, but that is the first photo I have seen. Falling off at 30+mph in lycra is always gonna sting, but that is just nasty.

You fail to mention the lad got up and finished the race in third, to secure his standing in the World champs..
