What Skip says. Low down it feels stronger than the R1, let alone an SV.

Mate's had a FZ1 for a couple of months now. It is the the dog's ballcocks.
He's never off it, and has put loads of miles on it

The more I ride it, the more I like it. It's not as urgent as the R1, but the handling at normal speeds is excellent. It is only when you are pushing on a bit on B roads that it's soft nature ties it up. Some heavier springs would sort it right out. It is a proper tool and I like it a lot......but not enough to give up my sports bikes just yet.

Im wondering if maybe the previous, carby, fazer 1000 would be a good bike to own. They look good, go well and the ones I've seen (ridden by all sorts of people in all sorts of conditions) seem to have very good build quality
not as great as the FZ1, put a potential super mile-muncher? |

Yep, great machine. A taller screen helps. As you say, absolutely quicker in real word road riding with real world speed limits! They are geared for the road not the track. Most sports bike riders won't admit that, but it's generally true. I have a Daytona, but reckon it's quick when I'm actually focussed on going fast, the rest of the time I'd ride quicker on a Sprint or a Tiger, because they make it easier.

What are the other bikes you tested in this class that were like wet noodles?
