I would love to know how they manage to get repair prices so dam high?
I know there's more damage than we can see in the pictures... but 5K?!! Just been looking at some bikes and found this... 2007 SUZUKI SV1000S Private - Sports Tourers, 4,575 miles £4,300! Can buy a near new one for less, Insurance repairs are getting to be a joke now. |

You got a point there kwak, but also Suzuki (et al) must be making a mint on spares because I reckon if you were to order about HALF of all the necessary bits to build an SV from scratch it would still cost more than double the price of a new bike.
My SV was almost a write-off after my first off, but thankfully I had a spare can (the Micron, which wasn't on it at the time of the accident), because a replacement OE can would have cost about £650!! The garage knocked that off the repair bill, thus taking the repair value down below "write off" level. To be honest, there wasn't that much wrong with the can, and I can still fit it back on for MOT time ![]() |
