Scoobs my apologies old chap I misread your comments regarding 2nd gear!

Fizz...Umbridge? Are we not adults here? Defending the Ducati name is not what this is about, that really is an incorrect thing to say. Not wishing to be rude myself but most things Ducati are completely lost on this particular forum, in comparison with others that I frequent.

I have taken exception in the past to people passing ill advised and incorrect comment about any make or model if I think I am justified in doing so. Often such comments are passed around like "old wive's tales" and contain no substance and are not from first hand knowledge. Is that being opinionated? If so....a big..WHATEVER! :P

A case in point is the childish "Boring Honda" threads that so often get wheeled out!

Part of the above might be due to the fact that there are a great number of people on this site with very limited rider and bike experience? This is not always balanced off by a good number of people with a very long biking career and machine knowledge. I dont know. But if that kind of thing is acceptable in your view, and to question or disagree with such comments is deemed as being out of place, then this is indeed becoming a sad forum to be take part in.

I rode a 2005 Fireblade 1000RR for 30km of fast and twisting Ronda Road yesterday as you have enquired. The SP2 I borrowed from my friend Gregory for an hour last summer before he actually sold it and bought....oh no the banished word....a Ducati 749!

For the record that idiot Gregory has now bought some big kawasaki pussy machine which everyone knows cant out run a CG125, the handling is crap and power delivery is as sluggish as a Harley!

Northy......With almost double the BHP on tap one would not be impressed if the machine was tested a little? please!

Only an 05....?

I rode an 06. I am sure that makes me more masculine and attractive to the opposite sex. In fact I reckon that makes me more attractive to the same sex as well.

Peter - I do have my own take on such things, that is probably different from the majority, but I like to think I am not full of it!!!

My friend I am afraid that I must concede to you on all counts.

*BTW..I bet you did not have the experience of another guy traveliing in the opposite direction to you on a '06 1000RR washing out the front end right in front of you?

He was exiting what to him was a fastish left hander and we were about to enter it as a right hander. We were on our side of the road and travelling at pace but he saw us coming and panicked and hit his front brake when still slightly cranked over! God only knows what possessed him to do that!

Fortunately he came off at one of the few forgiving places on that road and got away with just destroying the left hand fairing and no injury at all to himself.*

Makes you feel a little uneasy seeing someone bin the exact bike your blasting around on,(especially when it's your mates bike you are using! )

BlueSv...I'm sure your not full of it mate.
