Perhaps they are fitting a gixxer front end for you
![]() I paid for Oil & Filter on my SV 600 mile service, and the same for the ZX 600 mile service. |

Sounds like your being tied to a barrel and getting ready to be shafted mate.
Mine had its first service and it cost diddly squat, and I was given free coffee/tea while it was being seen too, plus I managed to get a wash out of them. Name and shame then mate |

My first service was free and my second service cost about £70 so you are being ripped off badly.
Tell them to foxtrot oscar. |

My first service all i had to pay for was the oil and an oil filter, i think it was about £45 or something, certainly not a lot.

It's such a blatantly wrong price that I doubt he's actually quoting for the first service. I'd give him the benefit of the doubt, give the number to someone else and have them ring to enquire about the first service cost, to see what he says. Then ring him back yourself and pretend to be about to book it in, ask him to confirm the price he gave you earlier etc.

![]() As mentionned by some others, I got the first service for free (t'was about 2 weeks after I bought the bike). Labour free, all parts free, the dealer knew I'd be back in about 6 weeks to hand over some cash for the next service. Some dealers do charge for parts, but give labour free. £45 is pushing a rip off for oil & filter. M&P service kit will give you oil/filter/spark plugs for £30 ish. The only other thing on the service is bolt checks. Name & shame the dealer. F#!?ing £500. ![]() I'm getting the valves checked for the second time (30k service) in a couple of weeks, and that's costing me approx £150!! That's a good 4 hour job (just checking the valves) which involves taking bits off the engine. |
