I've seen 150 from full to flashing with me (11.5 st) and small amount of luggage, after pretty average riding (some filtering/slow traffic on the M3 to the odd short bit of 100+ on the A303). That was with a headwind though, I saw about 160 going the other way!

Well my light flicks on around the 120 mile mark whilst pootling to and from work doing the speed limit and keeping the revs low . Today after a whiffle to Betwys-Y-Coed it demanded fuel at 112 , ignored it and filled up at 122 , have filled up at 140 the other day though , light was well and truly on but then again the 2003 SV doesn`t blink the light , it stays constantly on .

I have a K3 , the manual says it`s constant as I did question this after seeing a youtube video of some french guy wondering why his light was blinking on new bike .

Well I really must be doing something wrong, but it's great for my wallet. I have had anything upto 220 miles for a tank and regularly got 200 miles between fills. That was on the curvy before it blew the big end.
Still figuring out the new pointy first tank was 110 miles, then I got 180 and i'm on 120 miles and counting, not bad for a week!! |

I think I'm suffering from the same sypthoms as Red Herring, as I too only get about 70 miles to a full tank. If I remember correctly, before the Winter, I used to get around 110 miles. I've checked by bike over for leaks, but there isn't one.
Just changed the plugs, air and oil filters, and put some Redex in the tank to see if it makes a difference. I'm seriously confused!!! Chin |
