Each competitor leaves at minute intervals arriving at the start of a special at their designated time. The special is closed road, which you then ride as fast as possible, before continuing on the next road section to the start of the next special. You go round several times so you do get to learn the specials quite well. Winner is the person with the fastest special times all added up, plus any penalties incurred for incorrect time keeping on the road sections.
Simple really.
Sounds like great fun. Out of curiosity, does it require any racing license of any kind?

I built the bike for rallying so all I've done with it is test it on the roads I'll be competing on, single track twisty lanes. Incidentally I've also destroyed two rear tyres....in 450 miles. This is going to be one good bike.
WHAT!? Ive never even got it that bad on the Falco. When I went along the Helmslet TT road which is probably the hardest Ive pushed it so far (no other half decent weather since I got it) which was 3rd gear all the way and it still returned 45MPG.

Well with the SV the worst i got was 110Miles to idiot light. I didnt ride slow when I did that. Was quick IMO down in cornwall on the twisties. Got 200miles to the idiot light before going up Scotland.

The most I got is about 170 to the light was flashing, I got 145/150 from the last tank.

I fins it dependds on how u ride the bike, on ride outs I generally get less as I play with the bike more ect, gernal use about 110/120 thats around London.

but bear in mind, that I now weight less than 10 stone, I weighed myself this morning I was 62KG, or 138lbs. I keep losing weight, but I'm not on diet! How mad is that!

I'm 13 stone and usually get 155 from brimfill on sidestand to flashing. I seem to get that in any mix except when I am doing long distance at 90-110. But there again, I don't ever redline. That prob accounts for why my chain and sprocks are in such good shape after doing 18k too.

These mpg threads make me sick 170 miles??? (in the wallet that is). I live in Hertfordshire and commute to London every day. 20 mile journey, there and back. I used to get around 120, which I think is reasonable mileage from city riding, but since the Winter, I haven't seen past 69/70 miles to a full tank. During Summer, I remember riding down the A10, and my temp gauge was on 110 (very dangerous heat), so I pulled up to the side to let her cool down. I had mistakely read the mileage (doh), so took off again. I know my bike is capable of doing over 100 miles to petrol warning light.

Last week I changed the air filter, oil filter, put new oil in, and new plugs. I also tried out Redex to see if it would make a difference, as apparently it cleans injectors.

I got an amazing score of 82 miles at my last fill up - Redex must be doin something or the service???

I'd like to see what I get at the next fill up.

Sounds like your valves/seatings or pistons(rings) are shot to me. Sorry. Have you checked the compression?

I normally get 115-125 til the flashing light on a regular commute (curvy S)- Then I have about 15-20 miles before the solid light. So 170 makes me rather jealous!

On a long ride on the weekend I might get 135 til the flashing light and on my trip to Snowdonia last year, made 150 miles before flashing light.

It's the starting and stopping that does it...! Bloody cars and traffic lights!

I'm hoping new plugs and oil+filter change in the next couple of months will help a little.
