It obviously depends on how/where you ride (town, motorway or country road - fast, slow, never change gear etc etc), there are so many variables it is impossible to give you a figure you can really use. But that said, if you just want a real ballpark figure 120 to reserve/flashing light ![]() Last edited by Blue_SV650S; 12-04-08 at 10:21 AM. |

16 litres of fuel I believe from the Haynes manual, as for mileage/fuel consumption it depends how you ride it....

And there's about 4l of fuel left when the light starts flashing, and about 1l left when it goes solid, but don't hold me to those figures if you get stranded somewhere

120 to a tank sounds great as i do 100 miles a week and my old bike was doing a tank 12l to the week, |

Yeah you'll get 120 between fills commuting, that's my usual fill up point, and my tanks got a big dent in it lol

I cant work out the logic re filling my bike up.
The amber light was flashing today and so with 120mls on the trip I filled her up. It cost £11.30 or so. That equates to 11 litres. So if the tank holds 17 litres, and the light is flashing at this stage, where's the remaining 6 litres of fuel. From flashing to solid, there wont be 60 miles of riding left. Chris is right about the commuting but on a long ride out I can get towards 50mpg and that's giving her some stick now and again. |

There probably is another 60 miles, if you're careful - I had a run up to Scotland, and neglected to check my trip before setting off back south again. By the time I made it to Berwick-upon-Tweed, the light just went solid at about 180 miles as I pulled into the garage. I wasn't blasting along though, because of the fuel light being on and not seeing a garage for miles around - was 70 max for the last part.

120 miles to the tankful?............I must be doing something wrong. I haven't managed more than about 80 miles between fill ups so far, and it's taking 14/15 litres each time!
Actually I know exactly what I'm doing, nailing it around the local marshes, all 2nd, 3rd and 4th gear stuff, but it's exactly what the SV was built for and it's brilliant at it. |
