That's just the camchain guide over the run over the cams... shouldn't matter what position the cams are in - as part of the rebuild we will be setting the static cam timing using the marks engraved into the cams. Notice the white paint on the marks parallel to the top of the head... unnecessary really but worth doing just to make sure.

If your a squeamish person look away now...

Found all the broken bits now...
Engine itself if in very good order, casing, bearings and all the seals and stuff in tip tip condition, all shims & shell bearings are all within torellance.

The filter gauze by the oil pump pickup did it job as found some dog teeth trapped under it.

Oh, well I'm glad you've found all the bits... I was worrying about where they'd gone to!

Bloody heck mate, can I ask a silly question?.

How the fecking hell did you manage to do all that damage.

I was paid for 7 years to destroy gearboxes and apart from a silly bus driver who went through the gates on a national from 4th to 1st at 50mph and ripped the teeth from the annulus/planetary gears. I aint seen such damage from an amateur for some while

PS. Nice to see the smiling numbers back

Amateur ?? He's a professional in the art of gearbox grinding, it's what they get taught in the forces these days. Sadly For a few moments Richie thought that the bike belonged to HM forces and drove it "normally"
