So, to avoid the same happening to you, don't use the gearbox.

Great advice i'l just garage her then, i thought you was gonna say dont down shift two gears at speed or drop the clutch whilst red lining from a standing start? lol. must have just been a rouge part then eh

Found a stand- in engine with friction clutch, having a few problems getting it mounted though...
