I thought that initially, but with the LCD in now, its one of the best things we have bought for the house.

The problem is the Xbox is the only thing that's going to look good on it. We have a 100hz TV, while it not massive the signal to it is always going to be the failing point. So unless we get more HD channels I just don't see the point, most of the TV signal are getting better, alot of it is repeats which are using a old source so it looks a bit iffy on a LCD.
The only other reason I can think of getting the LCD is to save some space so we can put it over the fireplace.

Due to my addiction with electrical goodies we have two LCD TV's and I also have a 1080P 24" Samsung monitor (although that is mainly for my PC I do occasionally hook up the PS3 or XB360).

The difference between a standard TV and a decent high def TV is huge, especially for gaming. They are now fairly cheap too.

We have the Virgin Media TV plus service and that connects to the TV via the HDMI output. It also upscales all the TV channels so it all looks very swish indeed. The HD channels (all 1 on them) do look stunning though.

I bet if you turn over to Dave it will look awful, its just a lot of cost to me just for a xbox. I only have standard Virgin and I'm not sure I persuade them to give me a free plus box.

For some reason dave is one of the dodgier channels. Wait a year or two and they will be cheap as chips.

Right, so what games are you gents playing online then? Im seriously thinking of ways in which i can buy a new box to play online. If I didnt already own one, Id have been out and got one however Ive got to justify the extra expense just to play online.....

Anyone want a 360 but not interested in online gaming?

I've got one of these Sony 17" HD widescreen TV's going spare. I'd consider a sensible offer (three figure). Can connect 360 via component or RGB cable. 720p display.

Just went and got another copy of forza Will brush up and then I'll be online.

At the moment I have for online play -

GTA - (on loan till I buy one)
RB6V - no not the new one.
COD3 - Yes I have only just completed it.
GRAW - I love it.

I'm trying to decide to get GTA, PGR4, COD4, bad company, or Mercenaries 2 next.
Though after playing the demo to death the new Force unleashed has got me a little excited.

I can only pick one as I have a limited budget, maybe 2 if I can source them 2nd hand. But I enjoyed the openness of Merc so much last time I might just be draw to that.
