Cheers Bibio, the wait will give me some time to build a musical manometer, just need a bit more tubing and a couple of sets of pan pipes.

Can I order a set for the pointy Lance? I'll have to let you know later whether I need the standard or Oiler type. I've got a Scotoiler on the bike but I'm pretty sure it's not connected to the engine/vacuum anywhere!

if its working than it will be connected to one of the vacuum points on the TB's and usually the front one. its a thin black shiny tube about the same diameter as wd40 pray straws.

Had a look earlier it is connected, is there more connections to the vacuum other than for the front and rear throttle bodies? Here's a pic of where the Scotoiler fits, it looks to me like the connection to the throttle body is just behind it.
![]() And just to confirm are these the connections for the throttle bodies? ![]() ![]() And are these the adjuster screws? ![]() |

you have 2 options.
take the bung next to the scottoiler feed in pic 3 off and attach one of the vacuum pipes then do the same for the other TB. take the scottoiler feed off and attach the vacuum pipe to that then insert a T further up so you can disable the scottoiler when doing sync on the TB's, leave the bung on the other feed. then take the bung of the other TB and attach the other vacuum pipe to that. its the bottom screw you adjust. do not touch the top one. the top one is the STV that goes bbbzzz bbbzzz you start the bike and should only be adjusted using the depth stop on a vernier gauge as per manual. |

This sounds like the easiest option. And if I get what you mean this means I can just leave the Scotoiler plugged in where it is when I balance the TB's or would I then have to unplug it and cap that off while I balance?

just leave the scottoiler plugged in and turn it right down. its just to stop the oiler dripping oil while you do the balance. stick a rag on your chain and wind it onto the sprocket just below the feed pipe that way it will catch most of the oil and also serve as a reminder to adjust your oiler back to where it was.
