Cheers. And what about the clip ons? Are they higher or lower than the standard setup? I woulnd't fancy them being much lower than standard.

I presume you just got the stuff from ebay and the usual outlets?

STill can't decide whether to go for a maxton conversion, but at 400ish quid for the suspension, and then possibly shelling out for the gixer brake conversion as well - hmmm.

Sorry for hijack

Standard GSXR work out lower- I had some clearance problems with my fairing too. But TL1000S ones fit, and work out roughly the same as the SV. LSL also do 2 sets of bars for the GSXR, one is a little higher and one a "touring" set- I've fitted the touring set and they're very, very high Bit like riding a Fazer. They're nice but I wouldn't recommend them.

Northwind, you say these forks are sometime proned to corrosion, are there any other K series non-radial forks that are less prone or are they all the same?

Just thinking about brake discs too, if the forks/calipers are K series and the wheel SRAD which discs do you get? Im assuming SRAD but just want to be sure!

I had my forks 12mm through the yokes anyway with the stock forks, so it worked out perfect.

Also, the increased rolling circumference means your speedo becomes more accurate
Yes, it's about that. Actually 20mm after finally getting round to taking some measurements myself.

Regarding clipons, I've just found something from another bike that is probably overall better than even the TL bars(should be adjustable for touring or scratching). Not saying what yet till I've got my set

The discs are actually the same. Also the same as all Hayabusas (K7 will be different though) and all TL models. Basically, every GSXR from SRAD onwards, up until the advent of radials, uses the same disc.

As for corrosion, it's pretty trivial stuff- just a wee bubbling of the paint. It's more a gauge of condition than anything else- mine aren't in brilliant shape, and even though the rest of them would all clean up nicely, the lowers show it. I wouldn't be put off using these forks because of that though.

Adjustable? Nice one... There's a set of Blade bars that kind of work, but they look like they're off an antique

I have contacted the guy about the forks and he said that there is some slight damage to the topnut (the one you have to undo to service the forks), he said it wasnt much but he has some preload adjusters as well that would cover most of the nut. The guys seems v genuine and isnt just trying to get me to buy more of his stuff.

Question is; is it worth getting the preload adjusters as well(thin khes selling them for £6 ish) and what would it take to fit them??

If I were you I'll ask fora clear pic showing the damage especially as it wasn't mentioned in the listing. It could have just been an oversight but still.... Pic of the scratch would be nice as well.

I probably wouldn't pay £150 though.

Cheers
Ben
