Cheers Ben, looking for discs/calipers at the moment still no luck with forks as of yet Dont suppose you know which calipers are best to get (non-radial), northy suggested that Sv & GSXr calipers are the same upto 2000 and possibly later!

Dont want to end up getting the same as I've already got and northy has disappeared!

Nooo! Not calipers, master cylinders! SV and GSXR are very different.

When you're dealing with non-radial, get the 4-pots for your specific year/gen. SRAD calipers won't fit a Y-K2 750 fork, and the 6-pots aren't worth the extra cost, weight and hassle. Personally I found the 4s worked better, they have less total power but frankly, it doesn't matter in the slightest. IMO

They're pretty interchangable within generations though- also, SV1000 calipers fit onto Y-K3 750 forks.

E-bay link.

I'd get this set, they look in decent shape and they're pretty cheap on the BIN. You can go cheaper but this way you're not getting outbid

My advice: Don't buy these.

They're very cheap, but not particularily good Though SVRAsh has my old ones and seems pretty happy with them. I'd say, get standard or Braking/Galfer. Buying used discs is always a bit of a lottery though.

The way I see it is this. If you buy new, Braking aren't much more expensive than OEM. But if you're buying used, they're more expensive and probably just as likely to be fubared. I got mine for an excellent price, and there's a set of really cheap Galfers on Ebay just now, but if you shop carefully you can get OEM for as little as £40 sometimes.

I don't think they make any real difference on the road... They're less good as discs than my EBC Prolites were- the Prolites are ductile iron, very good braking surface- but they look better and don't rust like iron discs. They're lighter than the prolites, but I can't say I noticed any difference at all. But they do look ace

Because they're newer, more desirable, in better condition and shorter supply perhaps?

Andyb, I think those are the ones.

Going to be getting some HEL braided lines for the new front end, does it matter if I get SV650S lines or GSXR600/750 lines?

Going for the two line set-up

I might have Luke Millar's HEL braided lines front and rear - 2 line front setup. Black plastic coated braid with stainless fittings available
