Default 1999 sv650 handle bars raising

Hi
I love the 1999sv650 but the riding position does not suit my back. I have seen some bike where the bars have been raised so you have a more upright position. To do this is way beyond me , does anyone know someone or a garage in the Northants / Beds area that could do this for a reasonable price. Thanks

What kind of conversion are you talking about, top yoke & normal handlebar or higher clip ons

Hi
To be honest - I don't really mind what type - I just want a more upright riding position and don't want to have to get a different bike

Well here's what our old friend Matt Yokes produces, great quality, if a little slow on delivery & poor customer service

http://www.topyokes.com/

I've got Gilles Variobars on my SV, as I've got a GSXR front end. Not cheap, but plenty (too much!) of adjustability and keeps the look of my SV.

There's other fixed height clip ons

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/41mm-Clip-...item2c9859b04f

The higher you go, the more problems you have with fairing clearance on the S model.

Thanks for your reply
I see there are a few options , but my main problem is getting them fitted as I an useless with mechanics etc
, would not want to spend loads as bike is only worth around 1k and only use occasionally.

Either option should be too hard for any shop to do, probably the Matt Yokes option is easier, as its designed for the SV.

Pointies have much more clearance than the curvy

I had the standard risers and Renthal lows they do taller risers and higher bars, don't know if that makes any difference!!!

Don't think so, there just less clearance between the fairing & screen on the curvy
