How much would you put into a 330ml pepsi bottle?

Edit -

56p / litre is the cheapest apple juice I've found. Morissons is the best if you can get it (it's like syrup )

Can you post the link for that site? It sounds nasty...

IIRC I used something like 50 grams for 40 pints ... so you work out the concentration there!

1 tsp per litre I think, or 1/2 per pint.

I went to wilkinsons and asda, got everything i need.

Its been in there for 5 mins, and all the yeast is looking rather dirty at the bottom, and the mix is a bit cloudy.

That's cos the yeast is feeding on the sugar - when the yeast dies it'll sink to the bottom and the mixture will clear. I used to make home brew wine years ago, I hadn't thought of it until now - I'm going to have a go at this - TBH I didn't realise you could do it so cheap, wouldn't have occurred to me to use fizzy pop bottles - so John and Daryl, if you're reading this, you can come round to mine for a bevvy instead of us going up The Barn. I would NEVER use household bleach though! - Milton or supermarket sterilising liquid should be OK as long as diluted - if it's OK for baby bottles, it's good enough for this.

Good effort Magnum

Once you've got the swing of this, start playing around with flavours. Chuck a litre of orange in, or 5 litres of pear! It's making me thirsty just looking at it!

(Edit: have a look at places like this http://www.homebrewtalk.com/index.php )

Magnum - what was the total cost of the "starter kit", minus the ingredients for the batch?

Maybe we need to have an AR09 Turbo Cider tasting competition..........

I'll make sure i leave a bottle or two untill august (god knows what thats going to be like!)

Demijohn - Free. But they cost about £6 in wilkinsons, although you can pick em up at bootsales.
Cleaning brush - £1.99
Yeast sachet - 69p
Yeast nutrient - about £1
Syphon - £1.99
Bubblers - £2.50 for two

About £8 overall, + £6 worth of apple juice which is enough to make two batches.

On the links on the second page (i think) you will find what you need at cheaper prices. I only went to the shop and paid more for the same stuff because it was quicker.

I'll be putting on the second batch as soon as im confident the first demijohn full is going to plan.
