Setup
Demijohn - £5 (normally), and you'll nearly always find the kit in a charity shop for pennies.
Airlock - £2.50 for two, or use an elastic band and plastic bag (free )
Steriliser - £1.50 (Or use a dab of house bleach ... so almost free )

As for ingredients
Yeast about 50-80p (which will make 20 pints)
Cheapest Apple Juice - Nearly always 56p/litre in big supermarkets
You don't need pectin or nutrient.

So feck all basically.

i just add the nutrient to the old yeast and chuck some more sugar and apple juice in and off it starts again , im on the 5th batch now with the same yeast

That's awesome. You just skim it off the top? I always use new sachets, but the more scrimping (or scrumping ) the better!

Aaaaand brewing a Newcastle Brown style ale tonight.

So that's 40 Pints of strong lager and 20 pints of turbo cider bottled. And 40 pints of ale and 20 more TC put on. 120 Pints for an evenings work

i am feeling v inspired.

had some homebrew lager earlier. v nice.

It seems to be going to plan so far. Theres a bit of froth, and the airlock is going off every now and then with the odd bubble. 6 days left till bottling i think

Think i have some demijohns kicking about. Looks like my weekend is going to consist of creating some super cider.
