Firstly Hi all first message but long time user and SV owner (2002).
I am in exactly the same position as you. Bought new Hyperpro spring kit from JHS. Queried that 03 kit was sent for 01/02 model but James (JHS) told me this is the kit JHS recommend. Anyway got round to changing springs today and a bit worried when new spring was 130mm longer than old one. E-mailed James and he mailed back within 20 minutes saying that you have to cut down the spacer. I was also adding pre-load adjusters so cut the spacer down by 130mm for spring and 18mm for adjusters. That left me a spacer length of just 50mm (so about 68mm if not fitting adjusters) but on reassembly the resistance on the fork cap was about the same. Bit of a fiddle cutting then filing the spacer down to correct size but do-able. Have only managed one leg today so will do other tommorow before I can test ride to see if all is well. Hope this helps if not then e-mail James at jhs.racing@lineone.net |

Hmm... Did JHS explain why they recommended that(kit requiring cutting spacers).
I think I may be right in saying Rob has fitted a few Hyperpro kits and appears to be saying something different(consistent with my experience with Hyperpro). Did JHS mention that the spacers would have to be cut prior to you emailing? If It were me I will be emailing Hyperpro to find out exactly what the situation is. Threy are usually very quick with answering emails. Telephone calls are also not a problem if you can't speak Dutch ![]() http://www.hyperpro.com/cgi-bin/index.pl For UK ? http://www.highperformancesuspension.co.uk Cheers Ben |

Spec wise the springs for curvy and pointy are pretty much the same and as they are designed to be used with std spacers the length varies from model to model.
Cutting the spacers is not a problem, I didn't know you had K3> springs, Hypeerpro's UK distributer changed last year (no longer exe-tc)and I don't know who has taken them on, but they may be an issue with supply. For the sake of cutting the spacers as opposed to a possible couple of weeks wait there won't be a problem in how they perform |

What did James say then?
Interested to know if I did the correct thing cutting the spacers down! Hacked off at the minute anyway as after refitting my newly sprung forks I now have an oil leak on one fork. Don't know if I disturbed something whilst changing the springs and oil or just bad timing. Anyway don't fancy trying to fit new oil seals myself so off to Suzuki next week with an £80 bill. Whoo Hoo... |
