I'm a designer so have some weight on the matter, ahem!
Go for black which compliments the polished aluminium best and then do small touches of colour such as the suzuki badge, SV650, you get the idea. Also black wheels with polished rims are better than wholly polished wheel, Nice contrast is what brings chrome/polished parts out

i saw a harley with a gavanised effect paint airbrushed onto it - it doesn't sound that good as you can't really describe it.

Looked like ultra high gloss bright metal flake - was superb!

I went through your thread again to see how you're polishing and am particularly interested how you attacked the front of the frame, where it's all a rough crackled finish. Did you have to file it down using those small bits that fit to a driller or used 80 grit compound? Does this 80 grit compound come in a form of a soap bar? I'm guessing you'd need to go over the work twice more in different grits to eliminate the scratches and then finally autosol it.

When I did some polishing by hand I'd file it down with a small fine file to remove the cast marks and imperfections then sandpaper with wet and dry consecutively in finer grades and then autosol. My method takes ages, My friend and I did 52 hours between us on forks alone. Your method seems more professional using mops.

Subaru Obsidian Black Pearl. Looks plain black most of the time, but when the sun comes out and hits it gives a gold pearl flip to it. Would go well with the gold/polished wheels.

I've been following this thread.....

SEAT do a nice colour on the leon cupra, trouble is dunno if it will go with the wheels.

It's like an aubergene metallic, very, very dark infact looks black......until the sun hits it. Lovely colour.

Or as someone else has said, a matt black......like the Harley "Black-denim" colour.

Really liking this!

It is, trust me .
It's very subtle as well not massive flakes, but looks very effective when the sun is out. When it is overcast you would never know it was anything other than black.

I'd say go for this Subaru paint, the chrome look is already blingy but as long as the paint don't have large flakes like 60's beach buggies then it should look 'today'.

The paint code is 18L should you need it.
