It`s the speed of the Dremel that is the problem , they just operate at a higher RPM than you actually need and can be delicate with , I used one to get around the nipple holes in a rim and was ever so careful , it was like trying to defuse a bomb . A longer mandrel with a cleaning bob on the end of a drill would have been much quicker and easier for me . You live and learn eh ?

well to be honest my MT-03 has had them done as well and they have been fine but im a bit of a clean freek so the bike gets cleaned and polished once a week so should hopfully have no problem.... if i do will varnish it

liamsimpson how did the rim stripping go ? was the gold easy to get off ?

yeah not bad used paint stripper and then used the cutting compound to remove so its working very well but waiting for more compound to come through the post!! so will post when completed hopefully!

ohh right kwl what i have decided to do is to go over the pain with some 600 grit to score it a bit to help the paint lift then use a rough dish washing pad then polish them up but not sure wether to try polish them buy hand or get a small kit but i think i will decide when they are striped

not sure what it is just 80, 120 and 300 grit from www.thepolishingshop.co.uk which if you look its called abrasive compound tube in 1.35kg bars. not sure of the make but its really good stuff.

so 6 hours later and i have done one side of the front wheel!!!!!

First more 80 grit,
then 120 and 300

then lots and lots and lots of polishing!!!!!



What do you all think?????
