The biggest thing doing it yourself is avoiding scraping the paint off the rim, but this is of absolutely no consequence to me. But you might want to buy some of those plastic rim protectors.
right i will defiantly look in to this because the price of fitting and supplying tyres is a rip off!!!

Well , yes , but the money saved from that can go towards something else instead you see , something else I could get more use from and that is more of a necessity like new Tires in the first place , or buying the Badgeress some better bike gear , it`s a case of spending money where you can use the product wisely and it will do more good . Tire changing only happens Three times a year for me so the trade-off isn`t worth it .

Today i finally managed to finish the front wheel and refitted it. have a look at the pictures.

started the other side with the wire brush to remove the paint.

one of the children decided that she was going to help.

meanwhile the significant other was on the discs!!!

to which this was the outcome

once all completed and the discs were cleaned and bolted to the wheel!

don't worry i will be replacing the disc bolts with stainless ones.

then bolted it back on the front end!!

there is a lot of dust on the front end but that will be polished of when complete!!
also this afternoon we repaired one of the acquired side panels ready for filling and paint!!

and so the day has come to a close, i am hopefully going to get round to the rear wheel this week.

re. the disc bolts, have heard that stainless steel reacts funny when it comes into contact with alloy. Don't take my word as gospel but might be worth checking out.

yep , even Stainless bolts react with ally , the bolts should be loctited in anyway so it`s a moot point if they are bonded in . I have Stainless bolts on my SV and the ones holding the rear Hugger in place corroded quite quickly , within a couple of months on the threads . Used Copper Grease afterwards , not on disc bolts though , I have Stainless bolts for my rear Rotor , will wait for the winter to pass and will fit them in the Spring after by Winter de-cack of the bike
