Definitely replace bearings, dust seals and spindle if you have the dosh - whilst its all apart may as well do the whole job? Also dont forget to put the spacer (between bearings) back in before pressing the bearings back. Grease the spindle and away you go.........................You may have a dodgy can of lacquer there or a cheaper version - Halfords rattle cans definitely produce a finer spray - read the can for temp etc

I wouldn't bother unless they feel rough myself.

If you put the can in a bucket of warm water and put a blow heater or something in your garage you can minimize the risk.

I guess if you are on the road riding and they are cruddy, worn or just old then yes replace the lot to be sure. If they seem ok and the spindle looks free of wear then you could just clean them out and coat with grease - difficult to tell without looking first hand. Most racers would replace them at the end of the season anyway as a bearing failure can spoil a weekend. If in doubt get a second opinion?

Beautiful result Liam!

To save me reading through all these pages, what did you use for the engine paint?

I've seen it done, and was surprised how good it looked.
