Sprocket bolts came into stock today, bike should be back on the road by the weekend. I suppose it doesn't matter what the weather forecast says. Are we still thinking this weekend?

I'm getting out for a bit on my little toy this weekend.
I'm gonna have a recce in the castle ashby area as there's a house I want to go and have a look at that's right on one of the byways
it would be rude not to look at the local access while over there..

That would be worth the ride over Phil, look at this wee network of lanes by Santa Pod

Finally got round to buying some lock thread for the rear sprocket carrier studs on the XT. Was going to put the wheel back on, but realised that my rear tyre had less than 2mm tread, so I might as well get a new set of tyres fitted whilst the wheel is off.

Just ordered a pair of these.

It was just as easy to go up to Shirley and buy some as it was to come over to you and borrow some mate.

All the reviews on the web say they are a great road tyre, grip wet and dry, and profile allows silly lean angles, but not for speed. The BMW GS1200 Adventure came/comes (?) with them fitted as standard with a sticker on the top yoke saying do not exceed 100mph, apparently it's not a tyre for speed, wears very quickly at high speed, and weaves/wobbles, but that's hardly an issue on a bike that gets nowhere near 100mph!
