I've done it and depending on how ace you are with sorting wiring out it is indeed quite a bit of fraffing around to make it neat. Even using a round headlight, you don't have enough room to put all the block connector blocks.

I've got the 'S' sub loom underneath the tank with some wire lengthened but to be honest, it's not as neath as I'd like. The main loom connector blocks I've had to basically push back in so it's underneath where the subloom is.

Getting the naked clocks to work is not much of biggie though.

I guess you could shorten the 'S' subloom as much as possible and put it in a some sort of box underneath the headlights and then put all the connector block in it.

The other 'S' of mine I was going to turn naked I'm now putting back as an 'S' partly because of not having the time to get it as neat as I'd like. If you are good with electrics(I'm ****e) and have got the time, then go for it .

Personally I'll use a naked. Well actually I did make sure my latest bike was a naked

Totally unrelated. But. What is that pretty purpley-blue gizmo on the front of this bike?

If you mean the blue oval thing beneath the headlights it's an extra light

Well the easiest way would be to buy this
http://forums.sv650.org/viewtopic.php?t=45103

The S and N models have different looms which would probably mean a bit of messing about to get the clocks from a naked to fit plus of course clocks for a naked are rearer than rocking horse poo unless you're willing to pay silly money for them
Would have done, but I couldn't afford to insure it which was a shame. Spoke to my insurance company and switching my bike to be unfaired has no effect on premiums so I was chuffed with that. Didn't quite understand why there would be such a difference though, but hey ho.

I'll agree with that too, doing some commuting without mirrors myself at the minute. Not nice.
