Half of the Download headliners in the past have been a joke anyway, Audioslave, Tool, etc. But if the problem's that they're not metal enough, the organisers have been trying to get away from the none-more-metal rep for ages- they had Feeder headlining a stage once after all. You can't make a 3-day metal festival and have it not suck, frankly.

Nah, they're britrock, they just happen to be American. Seriously... More in common with Therapy? and the Wildhearts than with most emo bands. Take "Thank You For The Venom" and slow it down a hint, give it a Belfast accent, and it's a Therapy? song. A pretty good one, too. Same applies to loads of their other stuff. Or take Sister and give it a whiney american accent, and it'd be MCR. And you can't really miss the Queen influences.

My word... It's hard to imagine many of those bands making it higher than 2pm on the small stage at Download though, isn't it? Or playing venues bigger than my kitchen

Just in case; METALLICA CONFIRM WEMBLEY SUPPORTS HIM, Bullet For My Valentine and Mastodon are to support Metallica at Wembley Stadium on July 8. |
