The org is a good place, but it's not unique in the way that people club together to help others. I post to another place on a very regular basis, and have made a huge number of friends there who are truly spectacular in their willingness to help out when needed. At this point, and having spent a weekend in Belgium with him drunk, I'd like to exclude that pi55-ripping twonk Ogden from that list

On these forums, I've found people that are into the same things as me, ride the way I do and like to have a good time without involving getting rolling drunk (i.e. tea and cake at soho on a friday night). People have offered me bikes when mine has been damaged, people have held onto items for me so I can replace damaged parts, and people have taken the time to impart their wisdom and knowledge with me. So far, I don;t think I've annoyed anyone too much

Likewise, I try and help people out, even the people who's posts don;t make much sense but they are in obvious need of some advice, I'll try and help. This forum is full of very nice and friendly people, and in person they all hold the same values about riding - go at your own pace, we don't mind having to wait for you. So I feel safe and comfy riding out with people from here.

hurrah for the .org

OOooooh that was youuuuuu now I remember who you are!

That thread, that single thread alone made me see that the people on here are of good heart and kindness, and that in the big wide world full of complete blankers and stunts (work it out ) there are some people that just want other people to not feel miserable and stressed and will help out. That thread was awesome

Yes its meeeee lol!

I couldnt believe it when people I dont even know turned up and helped me out. I've always been one to help others with whatever I could and no one had ever done anything like that for me, let alone people that hadnt even met me.

I was astounded at the kindness that weekend.
[Edit] and you have NO IDEA how awful it was, the pictures do not convey the smell and the disbelief that someone can do that to a place. The tenant disappeared without a trace and I never got a penny from her for anything. Without the orgers, I really do not know what I would have done.
I still keep in touch, in fact we went to the BBQ yesterday and caught up, it was great!

When I found "the org" a few months ago I was really pleased as it seemed to have the same friendly, helpful (and mildly pi$$ taking) membership as the other forum I'm addicted to: www.mkivsupra.net .

The guys on there are a brilliant lot and go out of their way to help other members.
It also amazes me how many times you can get an almost instant answer to lots of other, none car, questions, laptop problems, general legal advice (speeding) how long to cook a duck for etc etc.

It's also much more fun when you have regular meets as we do, Ace cafe this Wednesday, Santa Pod in a couple of weeks, so you know who you are chatting too.

As I get more confident on the bike (old-newbie) I look forward meeting some of you on here at ride-outs etc.

PS. In one respect the Org is even better, more ladies on here

Pah... You all smell and look funny... no one ever helps me and I've never helped anyone.

I've stolen Christmas again, just so you all know.

Guess what all those statements are false.

That's quite untrue, you've offered up an entire option for almost every poll

The org is a place that unfortunately for some I probably will never leave, it has become part of day to day life at work & home.

I remember the first time I was meeting people off here on way to AR07, I was scared and worried what would happen all this way away from home, was the best weekend ever for me.

That Jambo is useful I spose solved a true noob's problem for me at a Soho meet after one of my offs, my brake lever only had 3 settings to it, told me to lube a specific point up and that should cure problems, funnily enough, he didn't take the pi55, which I woulda expected a lot of people to.

It also got you out of a ticket for running over pedestrians and parking your SV on the pavement outside subway
