Default Which Panniers For A Curvy?

Can anyone advise ona set of panniers that fit a curvy?

I bought some Baglux Sports panniers (older model) and they didn't fit with a pillion or without touching the indicators.

So I flogged them on and bought some Oxford Sports Lifetime panniers which are even worse!

Alternatively, I am a complete doofus and can't even fit panniers.

With them on the rear seat, in front of the grab rail, they touch the indicators. With the rear strap behind the grab rail, they touch the indicators. With the front strap between the front and rear seat, they stick in my rump and don't allow a pillion.

I read somewhere on here that they fitted well, which is why I bought them after the Baglux didn't but the person who posted this must have had a Pointy.

So can anyone advise how they fit theirs or recommend a set that do fit the bike?

If not, they'll be in the For Sale section tomorrow

Cheers,
Carl

I bought the Oxford Humpback panniers, cos they slightly smaller. They fitted the bike well, but I never got to use them as I killed it b4 the summer trips.....

They are in the for sale section.....

I also have some Oxford Sports Lifetime Panniers (from my previous Bike) which don't fit the SV. I'm planning on a little creative snipping of the rear tail tidy and some very (Very) Small indicators, maybe Motrax Diamonds, to go on the back. That way, I figure the panniers will be far enough back to be completely on the rear pillion seat, but not resting on the indicators. I'll let you know how I get on (if I can get them to fit!)

I've got a set of the Oxford First luggage and it fits a treat.

It terms of fitting it, if your indicators are in the standard position (ie, you dont have a tail tidy) then they fit fine. Both straps around the pillion seat. Admittadly I've not tried with a pillion, but can't see a problem.

Actually spent a couple of minutes trying to fit my panniers as I had some shopping to do and didn't want to take the car cos the football traffic was around (Yes I KNOW they're the wrong colour for my bike!). Anyway, took a couple of pics to show where I located them, the rear strap goes under the pillion seat, which then locks down, and the front strap goes right at the back of the rider seat. I think that any decent sized panniers will affect 2-up riding a bit, but have managed to keep the bags away from the rear indy's without replacing them yet!

On the plus side, I now have 60-ish litres of storage space, so will ride even more and use the car even less! All I need to do now is cut the straps and develop some kind of QR device and rucksack strap conversoin and I'm done!

Thanks for that.

That's very helpful. I didn't think of putting it under the seat. I'm still on the lookout for some to use with a pillion though.

Cheers, Carl
