Not sure I agree with that about all HID to be honest, the HID dive lights are some of the best "lightsaber" thrower lights to date.

If they don't look to throw then it's more likely the reflectors aren't really biased towards that... or that the amount of foreground light makes it look dark in the distance.

Most of that reflective effect is from scatter when you're using drop in kits! You still notice it with the projectors now you've got a decent cut-off?

yup. everything reflective still lit up like xmas tree. i'm not complaining about the throw as it's just as good if not better than incandescent, just seems a bit more washed out.

How much would you charge to do the same thing to mine? I am super impressed and really glad I have found this thread. Where did you get the UK beam pattern projectors? Are there companies that do the whole setup plug and play?

HID's were from ebay.

the man hours involved would prohibit me even contemplating doing this for others. it requires a full sub loom to be made up you then have to split the headlamp, epoxy the brackets for the projector unit into the headlamp, spray everything black, put everything back together then set beam pattern.

i think there are companies that do this but they charge a complete arm and leg for doing so.

it's fairly easy to do yourself but requires some professional crimping tools and a bit of electrical/schematic knowledge.

i took my time doing it but if your super keen then i would say it would take about 2 days start to finish.

if you want to do it yourself then i can guide you threw it.

If you would be willing to pm me links to everything I need and a simple step-by-step guide...ill buy up all that is needed and work my way through it one way or another.

I will probably attempt to also do a full photographic walkthrough for this forum so that others who want to attempt it can do so.

I have seen how much some of the companies charge. cant find any in the UK though...there is a US company that does the WHOLE kit but I worry about not having the UK beam pattern.

Any help you can provide me with would be greatly appreciated!

i'll see if i can dig around my ebay history and get you the part.

the hardest part is making the loom. the rest is just waiting for things to dry.

Did you ever get around to doing a write up for this Bibio?

I've a set of headlights sitting here, I've bugger all electrical knowledge but I'm contemplating attempting to install HIDs. A step by step, with recommendations on specific kits to purchase, would be the absolute best.
