Are they roller bearings or bushes?

Are these just bling or do they actually perform better for racing?

They perform better for racing, giving you a lighter bike, less drag coefficient and most importantly, extra BHP at the rear wheel, allowing you to lay down rubber like a crazy mother fubber.
Seriously though, they're adjustable so can be raised/lowered to suit (think ground clearance when tracking it) and I've found that I get better clutchless shifting so far since fitting, whereas with my previous setup (stock rearset with an eBay lever), I'd change up (clutchless), only for it to drop back down again shortly after. This could be completely coincedence and will probably change now I've mentioned it, but it deffo clicks up and down more easily/confidently with the new sets. Also, you'll need a brake banjo switch to operate the rear brake light and since fitted, the rear brake is quite difficult to 'jam on' like it used to be. I don't use it that often and previously when I did, it was hard to not lock the rear. It would require a lot more concentration and as a consequence, I never really bothered too much unless coming to a complete standstill. With the new lever fitted, I can really stamp on the rear and it doesn't lock up at all. Negative is that it's difficult to get the rear brake jammed on, positive (I guess) in that, even in the event of blind panic, it's probably not going to lock up. I'm sure it just needs fettling, but as I say, there's kind of a benefit in it being idiot proof to a certain extent. Overall, the important factor for me was adjustability and bling. |
