Wait till it gets proper hot and starts delaminating 'at speed' as Rictus said. delamination is the new tread coming unglued from the old carcass.

Personal experience of remoulds (on a car granted) will stop me from ever getting them again. Except for pure off-roading, where tyres get shredded anyway...

Partworns are cool (use them on my trackbike all the time ) ... but they are still main-brand new (i.e. not remoulded) tyres ... so not really the same thing!

I am not sure I'll ever overheat the tyres ... I only use it to ride to work ... which is mostly through town with a 'fun' bit for the last ~4 miles ... to seriously overheat a tyre in 4 road miles ... unlikely

Ride harder, you'll manage it

Your a brave lad, blue. You tyre will get real hot on a summers day when the heat can dissipate as quick.

Perhaps ... its not like I sit for hours on the motorway at 120mph though ... I commute through town then have a bit of a frisky ride at times down the backroads to work ... its not like I even get a clear run of it even then …

Lets hope I never find out the hard way, but for my usage I reckon a couple of jam doughnuts would do the job, so I am not sweating it!!

How many people can HONESTLY say they REQUIRE the latest rubber for their ride?!

The tyre has a tendancy to shed it's self from the carcus and that's not good

I'm surprised remoulds are even legal on a motorcycle. Do they have standard speed ratings?

What percentage do? What percentage of normal tyres do?

You see, that is part of the logic .. if they were lethal, then they couldn't be sold .. nanny state takes care of that They will have to pass some sorts of BS to be sold ..

Remoulds are notorious for delaminating, and the results are potentially far worse on a motorcycle. That's why it surprises me and I don't take the tests as a rock solid guarantee of similar or identical quality. Would you trust your head to a £25 gold-labelled helmet?, we know how lacking the "Gold Label" tests are. Of course they're still legal. I don't trust nanny as much as you do

I am genuinely curious about the speed rating, does it change, are they different? Or will a 150mph remould still be ok at 149mph?
