That's an average of ~48k every year over the full 31 years That's some serious miles dude ...

Calculating the lot on just current fuel prices - working out at ~£3.99 per gallon and doing an average of 46mpg ... that's over £130,000 on fuel alone!!! ....

Are you not bored of bikes yet ... how many mortgages do you have?!?!

Just the one morgage, but I do have the fuel allowance for a 3.0ltr company car

Just about done everything on a motorbike you can (although not always very well it has to be said), except funnily enough mini moto, had a o on a couple in car parks and stuff, but that's about it.

Cheers Mark.

Yet running a more echonomical bike ... creaming the rest off the top ... and for 3 decades ... in which case, surely you have NO mortgages!?!

I don't get all my fuel costs back, got to get the rest from somewhere, in fact that's a point, I've alway used whatever I had for juice, just what I wanted to spend my money on.

Cheers Mark.

Don't mean to be pedantic or anything, but my tyres are always steaming when I get to work when it's raining. My commute bike is a very old Deauville with Strada's on.

Just implying that the tyre instills confidence in the wet ... I have had 'nylon' tyres before and they certainly don't and as soon as it was wet you had to pootle!!

Does your commute include motorway? That'll get some heat into them ... my commute is ~6 miles town and ~4 miles national speed limit/twisty bits

I have the option of both. If the weather is anything less than peeing it down then I have a series of back roads that I can take all the way to work. If not then it's along the A4 and down one junction of the M4.

Best of both you might say.
