Bloody hell! I read this lot last night, got to bed at 2.30! Big thumbs-up for RH, for helping you out so much, all the other comments, particularly from the .org constabulary were enlightening. I'm glad I did my DAS!

Hopefully you get the whole thing sorted, and can get a solicitor to help you argue your case, since you DID make the effort to comply with the law, and if they can set fire to the dyno while using it I doubt they are capable of competently testing your power output.

I guess things like this are too important to pick up from fleabay. A receipt from a reputable company stating is a 33hp restricted ECU, that can be checked against a parts catalogue would be well worthwhile for anyone else buying one. Just a shame you had to go through all this to find out. I bet you'll not be trusting the law for a while now!

I have just been talking to the inspector for the last hour at a Warwickshire BikeSafe event. I'll PM you and RH my number and if either or both you want to call me for a debrief, I'll be happy to have a chat and let you know what was said.
