what's required then to prove this, what doe sone need to do...I have a restriced ECU as well as a Standard ECU and would be willing to give this a go...

Just disconnect the STV servo, maybe lock it open, depends whether it will start with it disconnected and showing full open.

HI, Sorry for the late reply.

Inspector was round Thursday morning to Inspect the damage, He's happy to pay for a new indicator and he's going to check the photos about a seat, due to the current damage on the exhaust and the fact it has a tear in it from my crash a while back I'll be replacing that.

He also mentioned the bike was running very rich on fuel, probably down to the ecu, would this effect the bhp? Also the full powered ecu when in the bike (now not working) just dumps fuel into the system and has massive backfires on anything more than tick over, completely un-usable. Is this down to the ecu or is this due to something else?

weather or not I'll be prosecuted is still to be decided and hopefully I'll find out soon either way.

I've also got the complaint forms but I'm still undecided weather to get one, he accepts that they're hard to contact and they're communication to me could have been much better so I'll wait and see what happens from here onwards.

Quick update as it's late, I'll Put something more together tomorrow.

Cheers an sorry for the delay.

Flame.

Thanks Flame. I'm really glad things are starting to work out for you. I'm not great with electronics but I'm fairly sure the restricted ECU shouldn't mess up the fueling to that extent so it might be worth booking a session on a rolling road when this is all over to get it sorted properly. Come to think of it that might not be such a bad idea anyhow because it might be useful for you to have a copy of a dyno sheet to keep on you.....but don't do it yet. Wait until you know what's happening because you might just want to get a dyno reading before anything has been changed.
Good luck, RH.

Sounds like your making some progress, albeit slow progress! Wheels of power and all that eh!?

That said, I'm disgusted that the Police involved are holding this sham of a "prosecution" over your head. Smacks of blackmail to me, waiting to see if you make an official complaint before deciding to "prosecute" or not...

Spot the difference...

Restricted ECU should not run very rich. Generally they run alright.
If normal ECU now makes it go stupid as well you have a problem somewhere.

So a new indicator, seat was knackered anyway, new back tyre, new ECU.
Expensive day for the force

I bet Herring has already told you but for chrissake don't accept a warning or anything like that.

You have much to learn

I wouldn't settle for less than a new bike and you are willing to replace the exhaust that they damaged yourself FB

Why haven't you asked for a new SET of 2 tyres? Obviously they've ruined the rear tyre and motorcycle tyres must be replaced in pairs. Wasn't the fueling fine before they set fire to your bike & put it on a dyno???

Think you got it in one there Philbo! If the police pay out for reasonable damages, and you could argue about what is reasonable if the tyre was bald and the exhaust damaged beforehand, and Flameboy doesn't make a complaint, then the whole thing will disappear. I hope the Warwickshire Police have learned a bit of a lesson from this mess and are not so quick to sieze bikes in future.

If the tyre was legal beforehand and is now unsafe...

You written to tyre manufacturer?
