Difference is you have a large body of that sort of bike kicking about used.

If they did it over here it would stop people learning because not many people would want to spend £5k on a brand new bike and lose half of that in devaluation!

I still do not agree with this law, I think it unjust, unenforceable, overly expensive, unnecessary and ineffective.

cant believe they took your bike, what a load of nonsence. I am a traffic cop of 5 years and this is utter ********(some of them just make us all look bad)
im not saying he couldnt take the bike because by the letter of the law he could.(the law is an ass) However i ONLY ever sieze vehicles if i am 100% happy that there is an offence to go with the seizure i.e no insurance/no licence.
lets face it i want to get you off the road if you are illegal.

I would have thought if you told him it was restircted he would have issued you with a HORT1(producer).

If i was to stop a vehicle within the hours of darkness and there was no insurance on the police database but the driver insisted he had a policy. At this time i would be unable to contact his insurance so therefore i would NOT sieze his vehicle. I would issue a producer.........that is how it works here.(greater manchester)

Sorry this has happened to you fella.

And make sure you get compensated from the siezing force

The producer form caters for any type of documentation. There is a space for "OTHER".......
The officer would just have to specify what the document was.....
ie a CBT cert

But that implies that the 33bhp certificate is a legal document, which it isn't.

Sort of on topic, i just got an sv and bought a 33bhp ecu, my insurance will ask for a cert, which I can't give them, will they insure me to ride to the dyno?

Find another insurer - don't encourage them to keep asking for certificates because they have no legal standing.
