On the cast side - they pack a fair bit of cotton wool in them things - nice and fluffy to start with but it flattens down a hell of a lot. Hopefully most of that looseness is being caused by that rather than muscle wasteage this time.

Im pleased to report that Mark was in good form when i dropped in on him today.

His Mrs came in with his dinner on a tray, he sat with it on his lap for about 5 mins , but eventually asked me to put it to one side , as he had not stopped talking and i think he had realized he wasnt going to stop until i left !

Hes having a tough time and i must say he is dealing with it brilliantly !

Yeah, I'm truly inspirational? a perfect example of a man whittled down by the grind of chronic pain, two things are all that I cling to at this moment.

I haven't really mentioned the single most important one, the bedrock of my being, she who makes me whole and is and will always be there no matter how short tempered or irrational I maybe, she'll never read this as she doesn't come on here, but if any of you (and some have) ever meet this diminutive Philipino, know that she is the steel that keeps me standing tall, my darling wife.

The second is thoughs that have put themselves out; for no reason I can see, to give me that little bit extra just when I'm in need the most.

I've always chosen to believe the best in people, and it's not a belief that I've maintained without some cost over the years, but realism has often proved otherwise, however I've seen and received something far beyond my expectation over this ordeal to this point and I'm truly humbled by it.

I fervently hope none of you are ever in a position to understand exactly what it means to me, but know this, a simple text or visit means a whole lot more than is sometimes shown, and I thank you all.

I've managed a few hours sleep tonight (which was unexpected) and only achieved by the massed visit this evening (very tiring but in a good way), however that was ended by the (as I've come to expect) hammer blow awakening, so I lay here now on the floor of my living room; leg pounding away, awaiting the dawn and the expectation of the hospital appointment in a little under seven hours time.

I'm sure I could have reached this point without the support I've received but am truly grateful I didn't have to.

So inspirational, you bet it's just pointed in the wrong direction, how does it go " with a little help from my friends".

Cheers Mark
