How do you answer that

All I can say is I've found a better alturnative to drugs, just for a while this afternoon I forgot about the pain from my knee thanks to the 3 "B's" (Brew,Butty & BBC) (legs all red now )

Long old day yesterday, 134 miles on the scoot, early start, expected to be wiped out today, but not to bad, I guess the more I do the easier I'll bounce back from it, nice to know I can shoot about as I want and not just when I can arrange someone to pick me up (although never had any problem with that either).

Guess the next step is to built up some stamina and strength, can't start work yet as GP isn't happy to write a return to work note without the physios imput, which I won't get until my first visit in about 4 weeks, so that'll have to wait a bit, at the moment I'm trying to get out ever other day and do something (today being a wonderful exception ) I've made a list of things to do and people to visit, although the more distant are going to have to wait until I'm back on a proper bike the Scoot will allow me to get about enough to do some of the closer ones.

On the bike front, well just waiting the offer on the bike and kit, have desided if I'm going to spend £3-4k or go new on one yet, but I'll leave it a month to see what I'm capable of, will be going around trying a few of the prime candidates for fit and comfort in that time.

Still offically not finished treatment and next consultation at the end of May, so will see what he's got to say, but not holding out to much hope there.

The brace is a mixed blessing, it does allow me to function with more confidence and holds the bones in line for less pain when walking, however even with much practise it hurts and I can't wear it for to long without it causing as much pain as it saves .

Today I went out without it, felt very wobbley, but managed, guess it'll be a case of where and for how long and what I'm doing will dictate whether I use it or not ?

So all in all a busy old time for me, loads of firsts over the last few days and hoping to have many more.

Cheers Mark.

OK best poker face on, just convinced the GP to write me a return to work note for the first of May, so I guess it's the end of a chapter for now.

Still a lot of hills to climb, but normality, all be it to a different and lesser level, is the goel for now.

The plan?
Well, work has to come first, sort out what I can do and if they are happy with it.

Chase the insurance guys and see what's going on (not really been to hot on that so far).

Bike ? Well I'll give it a month on the scoot, and use the time to build up as much as I can the stregth in the knee, then look at what's next, will look at a few of the adventure sport type bike, don't know whether I'll be going new or not yet, might just spend £3-4k on something for this year?

Finish the triple, I'm heart broken I'll never get to use all that power and performance, but it just isn't going to happen, might just save that set of bodywork and get rid of the bike, don't know yet we'll see, can't really think about it now.

Treatment, well go to see the Consultant again to discuss the next step, but as you will have gathered, I've already excepted my current limitation, can't really see him having anything else to add to the mix, but you never know ?

I'll go threw the Physio thing as well, nothing to loose, but again I don't think they can do much for me that I haven't already exceeded.

So out and about again, joining in a bit, if not as much as I'd like.

Cheers Mark.

Slower, slower who said anything about slower

70 mph in traffic is still a speed you know, been out tonight practising the scooter code (undertaking, not stopping & never closing the throttle), just got to get passed the turbo lag, need lighter rollers and spring, of course I've got to find where the hell they are first mind, got chav race can on the way.

It takes more than just trying to kill me and screwing my knee up to hold this boy down, all the doc's tend to do is bring out my stubbon side

I refuse to loose my hobby, passion, way of life, just got to get back at a maintainable rate that's all.

Might not be able to do the rideout as such, but I'll be there for the start or finish or middle or something

Don't think it's getting better or anything, but my ability to work around it is, so it's all good here thanks.

Cheers Mark.

Bugger me... Didn't see that one coming at all. Strange to read this all in one go, and see a load of bad news and a load of good news all together, but it's just bloody brilliant to hear you're back on 2 wheels. Training wheels obviously, but we were all young once
