Back a little earlier this evening, got out as soon as I could, although they had me on a sliding scale (took over diabetic control) and should have had me in longer I spoke to my consultant and he agreed I could come home as I'd not used the morphin throughout the night.
they done the bone graphed and replaced the PCL, which was a little confussing because I thought they were doing the reconstruction on the ACL, but Hey whatever, he said it appeared to go well, just have to wait and see, got to have the wounds examined in a couple of days by the practise nurse as the hospital is in the middle of an infection outbreak (being diabetic opens me to a higher risk), then back to have the near hundred staples removed christmas eve. also got an appointment to see the consultant in a couple of weeks as well to see how it's going. It hurts, local wore off sometime ago,, got some pretty cool scars here, leg is in a fixed straight brace and not a cast, so that's good, although I'm not allowed to bend or stand on it at present, but it feels OK. Had a bit of a weird dream, though I had woken up screaming in pain, asked one of the nurses, and apparently I did, in recovery, which is why they gave me a local in the leg. could have only been a moment or two, funny that. probably be a bit rough for a few days now, but expecting that, strangely gave me nothing more that co-codamal, which doesn't work on me, will try my GP for some more tramadol, if not got plenty of scotch ![]() Cheers Mark.

Take it easy Mark.....just sleep as much as you can and try and get through it. Hopefully you will come out of it with a knee that allows both walking and bikeing.
![]() Also congrats on your early escape from hospital. |

hi folks, finally managed some sleep and well needed it was to, have dozed a bit but not really had any since Monday, anyway a couple of tramadols and I went out like a light at about 2am and woke at 3pm this afternoon, bit a a shock awakening mind, but do feel a bit better for it, don't feel quite so "post op" which is good.the pain is fairly constant which makes it easier to manage being clamped tight in the brace, so all things considered, not bad at present.
thanks for all the well wishing, it all helps. Cheers Mark.

Hopefully we can eventually kick you out of the Wonky Knee Gang, or at least knock you back to 'Old Boy' status.

well as of now, the knee is straighter than a straight thing so not wonky at all, although when the brace is unlocked all bets are off
