But of course the pleasure out weights the pain

Cheers Mark.

Time for another update I guess, well after a few grace days after coming out and a general overall pain the knee has come out with certain internal pains, had a few rough days and only the medicated sleep kept me going.

this time I've been taking tramadol each night from the off, so have maintain a reasonable amount of sleep each night, and not having the chemical imbalance of last time has ment I'm far more with it this time around.

people visiting have helped no end and given me goals to look forward to, which is all good.

I've got to go in and see the practise nurse tomorrow and have all the staples out, having seen the removel tool ( bit like a blunt spoon ), I'm expecting it to be more than a little painful, but I'll let you know how that goes, got an appointment to see the physio on the 28th, but as I'll still be in the straight leg brace it'll only bee the move the ankle about I would imagine.
Still no sign of the consultants appointment yet and that's the one where I'll find out exactly what has been done and what's left to do.

so in general, not to bad, still a fair amount of pain, but I'm managing at present.

Cheers Mark.

Yeah it hurts like a bas***d having staples removed. Staples are supposed to give a better or neater scar. I'd rather have the needle and cotton method with plenty of action man scaring.

No not tomorrow Jamie, going now, so just might start my "drown in scotch" celebrations a bit early.

Cheers Mark.

Back now, I can say now I much prefer stitches to staples, that wasn't nice at all, felt every single one being removed, stinging a lot now but I guess that'll calm down in a while.

Still at least it should make the brace a bit more comfortable as it no longer pushes again the staples, and perhaps sleeping as it tended to pull on them.

One more step down the road to recovery.

Cheers Mark.

It's all good fun having staples removed. I should have come round and done it for you. I have a staple remover in the office I could have used.

Down to the physio today, was thinking it would be just a wiggle of the ankle kind of thing, but was given some exercises that'll push abit more, it's going to be tough, still not allowed to bend it at all but she did measure how much it will bend without pulling at all and that's 30 degrees.

she also mentioned I've a bit of muscle wastage of the gluteus maximus on the left, so needed to do more physical stuff, so in my own way I addressed the issue head on and walked the 2 miles back home, OK took nearly 3 hours (yes that's less than a mile an hour) and slept for nearly 4 when I got back, but Hey just doing what I'm told .

Cheers Mark.
