I thought you had to wait until you had the word from the consultant Well at least it's not the wasted journey you were anticipating.

Oh indeed, only allowed to take 1/4 of the weight through the leg itself and as said no bending, but hey at least it's doing something right.

Cheers Mark.

Jeez whats that a fortnight since the op...and you are walking miles on it. You are one crazy/brave *******!

Whilst i know you probably feel its frustrating as hell doing nothing, you might be doing more harm than good by pushing too hard too early. Just take it easy and it will hopefuly come good over time.

Oh trust me, I'm fairly scared of damaging it as I know I don't get a second try at this, but I do need to up my energy level somehow and being in the brace stops me doing any damage really.

I'll keep within the bounds of what I'm allowed to do until I've seen the consultant and find out what's what.

You have to remember I don't see this as new thing which makes it over 14 months old, as a very energetic person before it's kind of soul destroying to be so helpless and tired out so quickly.

I don't think many understand the pain of riding this year, I've got fairly good at hiding it, but I can't wait for the day I can truely once again enjoy a pain free blat on the bike.

But light on the horizon I hope if a little way off.

Cheers Mark.

Crikey - 14 months now! Have you been putting any time frames on where you'd like to be with it in the future Mark?

to be honest there areso many possible out comes that it's impossible to say what or how long it'll all take.

I don't think I'll even ride a sports bike again, well not without certain modifications (plans for the speed triple haven't been totally bnned yet), and of course any weight through the pegs is doubtful, so my riding will always be compromised at best.

But as to time, well as a rough guide another 6-8weeks mobilising this time then a further op on the ACL and the same again recovery wise, so I guess 3 maybe 4 months, that takes me to mid March/April time before I can see myself getting back on a bike.

On the other hand the consultant may tell me he's not going back in, in which case I'll obviously not get back that function but knock off a coule of months recovery time ? I really don't know until we talk.

Cheers Mark.

Thanks Hun, tiring but it was nice to at least be able to do something even though it was very slow, and with the brace on I know I'm not going to bend the leg at all, plus the fact they want me to put a little weight through the leg, I must admit it idn't feel bad by comparison to the month before the op, so perhaps whatever they done is helping ?

Anyway I'll start having a walk (I say walk but it'll be with the crutches and only 1/4 weight through the bad knee) every other day up to the shop (about 200 yards or so), although I'll hav to be a bit careful as my good knee is now hurting a bit as obviously it's having to work a good deal harder at the moment.

Cheers Mark

Ahhhh, the feeling of having your one good, unadulterated complain. Treasure that limb, they are few and far between.
