I have a plan
![]() 18 day's long first one today. walked up Crystal Place hill around the park and back home, 5.3 miles in 4 hours 11 minutes, average heart rate 97 BPM and top rate 137BPM. sure it hurt, blister on my palm from the stick and all that, but had to be done, tomorrow is a couple of sessions on the home multi-gym, just working the upper body and resting the legs. Friday I find out how well I've recoverd from today and can plan out how much I can do on each walking day. I'll be off to my Mum's on the 5th to fit a few bits to the T'bird, if I'm in any condition I'll ride it home on the 7th. I work better with goals ![]() Cheers Mark.

So my second walking day.
For the third time in the last 20 years I took a train, typically the London bridge route had engineering work going on so I had to got from Selhurt to Victoria, from there on the tube to Whitechapal. I was surprise at how quick the train was, whether this was luck or not I really don’t know, then about ½ a mile walk to my first destination. I was finished there at 5 pm, from there a 3.8 mile walk to Soho lay ahead, 2hr 19 minutes later I was at Nero’s. so quite happy with that. The guys started turning up by about 7.30, but by about 9pm the cold had started to take it’s toll, with my gorgeous escort I walked down to Piccadilly circus, the stairs down were probably the biggest effort of the day, but I managed if not gracefully; without incident. Change at Green park then a quick goodbye as I departed the tube at Victoria for the Overland. The train was waiting at the platform and as I had 11 minutes until it left I grabbed a quick coffee and burger. The train left at 10.21 and I got home at 11.05, all in all a good day out, knee wasn’t hurting to much, and as I had gloves this time no blisters. So 3 down, 15 to go. Cheers Mark.

I wonder how many of our "able bodied" members would be happy walking 4 miles

![]() ![]() It's purely an exercise in determination over physical limitation, so very much a single minded endeavour, not much joy in the whole thing though, it just serves a purpose. still the cost today, well a blister on my heel and another blood blister on the palm of my hand, not bad for the distance covered, walked to Elmers end/Eden park on to West Wickham, back to Shirley and then home, tiring but a good day. Cheers Mark.
