Another milestone reached, since April I've been doing physio of one kind or another, and the passed 6 weeks has just been the physio gym stuff twice a week.

Today I had my assesment with Emma and we agreed I could do most of the stuff either at home or down the local pool, so I'm on the books for the next month and can return if I have any problems, but today was my last visit.

Not fixed, but it has given me benchmarks on what I can and can't do and at what cost.

One more thing crossed of the list, my consultants appointment 27-10-08 the last thing on the list left to do, a hellish couple of years, but I made it

My thanks to all thoughs on the .org that have helped with well wishes, particular thanks to those local that have either helped open doors/got the round in/given up seats/got me food or whatever (you know who you are).

Special mention to the ladies, the hugs were better than the painkillers*

* although of course now I'm addicted it would be cruel to stop right

Cheers Mark

Glad you've got through the major milestones Mark. Wishing you a speedy recovery to complete full health in as short but safe time as possible.

Haven't visited this thread in some considerable time as the business of everyday life has taken my concentration, the knee has settled down a great deal and I've come to understand the limitations of what I can and can't do and more importantly what it costs me to do it.

So I'm now in a somewhat strange but predictable life style, for every active day, I loose a day of mobility, in short a good day followed by a bad one, but have got used to that, I've proved to myself what I am able to do is a fair amount all things considered; sure I have to leave rest/recovery gaps before and after planning anything, but have learned to pretty much deal with that mostly, the knee gives out unexpectedly on occasions and I have the odd fall which can't be helped, but for the most part I've found my boundaries.

Anyway the point of revisiting this thread...

Well the legal wheels turn slowly, but they do turn, my case is due to be filed shortly as it'll be the three year point, and the other side have made a sizable increase to their offer, all things considered it's close to what my investigations told me I could expect to be awarded from court, I know this is the game and the point of the increased offer and it was designed to have this very effect, but the difference between the two figures isn't great, so today I instructed my legal people to pursue this course for any improvement they can manage and would expect to settle, of course until that point my option to carry on with the case remains.

So there is light at the end of the tunnel, well at least in regard to this issue, still other things to sort out, but it'll be a great weight of my mind should this be concluded.

Cheers Mark.

Mate I've just read all this thread, took a fair while, bloody hell dude. So it's true when you said that your stick is not just for ****ting mirrors/pedestrians. I cant believe you went through all this and can still ride so well. I hope your knee gets better if possible, and good luck with the settlement

Oh I think I cope quite well all things considered, I don't ride like I used to, but have compensated to a fair degree, my lines are a little different to everyone elses as I can't really push through the pegs, but active counter-steering makes up for a fair amount of that, I miss the stamina side of things and that limitation is probably the greatest frustration, but just greatful I can ride at all really.

My aim is to enjoy my riding as often as I can and for as long as I'm able, then they can screw the lid down on a contented bike nut.....

Cheers Mark.

Well you're not slow mark, so it makes me wonder how you did used to be able to ride if you state you can't ride like you used to!

Or is it a case of the riding is now differant, as opposed to slower?

I do hope you got everything you deserved out of them.
The bike is a good starter for ten though.
