We will get wet on Saturday. The weather should be OK on Sunday, but wrap up warm. I seriously doubt we'll see snow or anything else that could cause you an off.

I posted that weather forecast partly in jest cause it's a BBC forecast, and they are full of ****. The BBC forecasts are exaggerations nowadays, its like they think somebody will sue them if the weather is worse than they forecasted.

DATE:
Saturday 25th October to Sunday 26th October

WEST/CENTRAL MEETING POINT:
Kincardine Services @ 10am

EASTIES MEETING POINT:
Kinross Services @ 10:30am for an 11am departure

NORTH EAST/ABERDEEN MEETING POINT & LUNCH:
If one of them jumps out in front of you at Blairgowrie please stop and pick them up. Otherwise we'll catch them at the Spittal of Glenshee Hotel. Depart whenever we have met the Aberdeen crew and we are all ready to go, expected about 1:30 to 2pm, but we are in no rush.

SATURDAYS ROUTE:
http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&saddr=Unknown+road&daddr=B996+to:B976+to: aviemore&hl=en&geocode=FbKuWQMd1oPL_w%3BFQmHWgMdel 3M_w%3BFVazZgMdqdDO_w%3B&mra=ls&via=1,2&dirflg=h&s ll=57.04073,-3.103638&sspn=2.190678,4.921875&ie=UTF8&ll=56.7647 68,-3.482666&spn=2.206922,4.921875&z=8

SATURDAY NIGHT ACCOMODATION (thanks Haggis!):
http://www.aviemore-bunkhouse.com/
Aviemore Bunkhouse, Dalfaber Road, Aviemore, Inverness-Shire, PH22 1RH

Please pay haggis on the night. Please remember if you drop out after 13th October (the date of booking), please PM Haggis to arrange to pay for your bunk.

SATURDAY NIGHT FOOD:
Table for 13 booked at Roo’s Leap http://www.roosleap.com/File/Roos_Menu_Aviemore.pdf under the name of Balfour.

SUNDAY RIDEOUT:
Again no rush, leave when we are ready. Don’t know what we’ll find for breakfast so bring some cereal bars or something in your luggage just in case. Expected departure about 11am. End of the ride-out is at the Green Welly and folk can refuel and head for home.

http://maps.google.co.uk/maps?f=d&sa...8,2.460938&z=9

SATURDAY FUEL STOPS:
Kinross Services, you may want to take a full tank here, it’s 135 miles to Aviemore!

Shell, 34 Perth St, Blairgowrie, PH10 6DQ. It's off our route and a wind through town.
I'm hoping we don't need to stop at this one, but we may have some folk or some bikes that are not comfortable doing 135 miles on one tank and we can't 100% rely on fuel at the Spittal of Glenshee hotel. Please let me know if you need to stop here.

Spittal of Glenshee hotel, just a couple of pumps, it may be expensive, and it may have run out. Fill up at Blairgowrie your confident your bike can do the 135 miles, wait until Aviemore

Aberdeen crew only.... please can you sort out you own Saturday morning fuel.

Aviemore, next to the railway station, again full tank recommended, it’s 120 miles to the Green Welly on Sunday.

SUNDAY FUEL STOPS:
Fort William, most folk won't need it....

Green Welly, Tyndrum

MARKING:
Please use the marker system. Ride as you please between junctions, but please don't change direction without making sure the bike behind has seen you.

Oh bugger!!! I think we are semi-chickening out on this one. The weather here has been pretty severe yesterday and today- heavy rain, lots of big hail, wind gusting upwards of 70mph and a good rumble of thunder and lightning in the mix and it's a worse forecast for tomorrow. We came back from Inverness yesterday in the car that was hairy enough. Covering the same ground on the bike, I could see us waiting it out at Cluanie Inn...

So unless things improve majorly overnight, and it could just about do so, then we are packing up the car and will see you brave souls there. No point losing out on the occasion since it's all paid for.

Plus Amanda has mentioned the 'S' word..... shopping in Inverness on Sunday. So me and Johnny can go and look at all the nice machinery at the bikeshop.

It's the wind forecasts I've been watching, and they're the same everywhere, met office has a severe weather warning out for gusts up to 80 and we're riding up and down mountains all day Metcheck is more promising but even they're predicting damaging gusts. It all looks perfectly rideable, but not much fun to me. The run over the lecht was nasty enough last year, with a quarter the rain and much higher temperatures.

Not wanting to put anyone else off, but I don't think it's worth it for me. Sorry folks... Hope you have a good weekend though!

!
Ach we've gone over the Lecht and it was snowing a few years back I remember.

looking at the forecasts it appears to be a bit tamer up the east of scotland tomorrow so I am still being optimistic.

After all. Remember all the poor forecasts for the Glencoe massacre and yet look what we got !!!

If it's really looking dodgy by the Spittal of Glenshee we could always double back and run for Pitlochry and the A9.
