I think it's a nice idea. I'm not going to stick one on my bike for fear of looking like a big girls blouse, however I think it could help a lot of people. I remember one time where a live saver saved my life, whereby someone was sat in my blind spot for a while during rush hour. With this device I would've known he was there before the suprise on doing the life saver.

Seems like a good tool to use alongside existing mirror use and obligatory shoulder checks.

all i can imagine is that you get 180deg of f**king car headlights and/or sunlight beaming directly into your face

Could see it actually being more dangerous as the rider gets compacent and starts to rely on it instead of doing shoulder checks, like parking sensors if you allow them will make you forget how to double park, or sat nav make you forget how read a map.
