Did you not have to do an emergency stop on your test?

If/when I see her on her bike, I may agree with you that it's too tall, but not until I've seen first hand. |

Personally I think you would, but I'm not riding the bike you are and you have to believe in yourself and your abilities and you dont, which is why you fail.
But I also agree with Claire in that you have the wrong bike, but I did tell you that ages ago, theres only so far a postive mental attitude will carry you. Is there a reason you did your test on a 125 ? and if so do you think you'd pass your test on your SV or something similar i.e a GS500 or an ER5 ?

Right, please don't go off on me, I've had an idea!
When i was waying up all my options, I spoke to a guys who does custom bikes! At the time he was making a bike ( can't remember think it may have been a fazer) and was making it more like a cruiser, longer wheelbase, altering the rake angle, but all properly! Think the guy liked his bike, but was getting older and wanted something a bit more laid back! Is this an option? I now it will cost but if its gets me riding it without fear, it would be worth is! Please don't shout! |

Personally as I said before I'd sell your bike and buy something more suited. You're just p*ssing money away left right and centre on your SV at the moment and in your situation thats not something I'd be prepared to do.

HAHA! I brought a GS500 to do my DAS on, couldn't manage it dropped it more times then i can remember on the 1st day! They told me the bike was to high and heavy for me! so i went back to a 125 and as it was easier! The ER5 the test centre had one lowered and i was nowhere near the floor - or a tiny tip toe, can't remember! I then did some serious research and a lot of people brought up the SV, light can go pretty low, e.t.c and thats how i got here! Like you say theres only so far a PMA will take you and it won't make my right leg longer! I could have all the confidence in the world and one day lend the bike slightly to much, or stop abruptly or be on a dogdy camber and the so right leg needs to go down at the last minute and this won't be possible! |

can somebody go round to her and see if she can ride this bike properly ie is it too big for her please, mind you there is no reason why you have to be able to get both feet flat on the floor, and you would think you would at least sit on the bike befor buying, if it was ok then then whats changed appart from her confidence has taken a knock?.

Changing the bike more and more will never help you, you will always find some other excuse. You could spend a fortune this way and never be happy. As has been said here, its confidence, self-belief that you really need, and unfortunately I cant find the Suzuki part number for that, or any of it on eBay at the moment. However I know that if you get out on the bike, you will probably find some quite easily - its an SV so dont bother trying to U-Turn it - I do U-Turns on my Z750 2-up but never mastered it on my SV - thing is, you dont ever really need to do them, and while I understand that paddling the bike round is probably not something thats easy, maybe not even possible (I am 5'8", but have short legs so have a little insight) you can always get off and push it round, which is a technique rather than a strength thing. I dropped my SV twice in 2 weeks when it and I were both new, and I have had to pick it up a lot more since then - the embarassing one being on the way to AR07, when I stopped at the side of the road on a Motorway slip road, where my wheels were on the edge of the road, and the spot I was going to put my foot was 3" lower than I thought - still the good people of the Soho Massive helped pick me up. All new riders have a lot to deal with, the gears, the speed, the fact that the throttle seems to be an on-off switch, but you soon get the hang of it. Don't give up, you can do it, just have faith and belief in yourself. Chin-up Halfpint ![]()
