Particularly poor wording from me really. I was meaning that only that person can comment rather than all of us her on the .org. And yes, all that person could do is advise based on observation, it is, as you say, her decision to make. Also if it was me, ie my offer gets taken up, I would refuse to comment on that anyway as I dont regard myself as qualified to do that.

Somebody needs to get over to her and take a look finally! See if she has a chance on the bike and talk to her to see if she need an attitude change. See if the bike is jerky or not (I seriously doubt it, just rev higher and slip the clutch better). I think we are reaching the limits of what can be achieved over a forum now.

During off roading we used to say: Fallings learning, if your not falling off your not pushing your limts therefore you learn nothing.
If something is new and you have no instruction then the only way to learn is to find out what it is you cant do and keep trying it until you can. The best suggestion for your that I have is to try doing very slow figure eights. These teach the throttle control and clutch control better than any other manouver. Most importantly get back up and try again. |

I think that was plainly obvious a couple of threads ago.

my bike is quite jerky, I think its a thing that is common to many V-twins. Mind you, its not so bad its about to throw me off - gentle feathering of the throttle, use of clutch at low speeds, getting the bike into 2nd gear all helps. My first few miles on the SV saw me running wide, stalling, jerking about until i got the hang of the clutch. From there, it was all plain sailing.
Check your clutch is properly adjusted and lubricated (cable and push-rod / worm drive thingy) and then spend some time practising slow control. |

Ok things are getting a bit mixed up and please don't argue over ME!!!
It wasn't the jerkiness that made me drop the bike, is the fact i was turning right with no foot to guide me as i went! When i was on the cruiser i used to be able to get two feet down and then as i went round a corner, if i needed to i could tap my foot down to correct the lean or whatever, thats all i'm saying! I know people are saying its just confidence, but having all the confidence in the world ain't gonna give me a longer right leg and if turning right i lean slightly to far i can't tap my leg down as i go along to correct it! Anyway like MBK said, i think all that can be said has been, i need to get my head round this and decide what to do! Thank you |
