As I've said, it could be that they're riding that because their main bike is off the road (accident, service, needs repairing etc).

Also, if you wouldn't acknowledge another biker because they're a "chav on a scooter" does that also mean you wouldn't stop to help out if they had an off? By god I hope society hasn't come to that!

Even Jen will nod/wave at bikers when she's driving the car! (and she doesn't even know how to ride a bike, let alone have a licence) Most probably don't notice her (I know I wouldn't) but that's besides the point.
I'd always stop if I saw any accident, and try and help as much as I could. But for some people, although I'd stop, I wouldnt be so understanding - some people lend themselves to injury and accidents by the way they ride and the lack of kit - and sometimes, the lack of properly fastened kit.

I've seen loads of kids on scooters riding without helmets done up (isnt this illegal?) and if they have an off, I would help but wouldnt be as sympathetic

I am pretty sure it is..i was told by someone who is usually a good source of info that if any helmet is not fastened it no longer qualifies as a helmet but as a cap!

I always give a wave in the US it it most common to wave to the side or at least give a nod and no matter how busy traffic is i try always to wave. If a scooter waves at me i wave back but i don't initiate it and i always wave at police firetrucks and ambulance. I guess because i am happy that at the time i am not needing any of them

Same here, if you were to nod at every bike you see in london you'd look like the churchill dog

I ask because I was out tonight having a lovely ride and I gave a fella the nod which he didn't reciprocate! T****r. He wasn't a courier neither!

Yep, I nod at every rider I go past....if I get a nod back then great, if I don't then....well......doesn't really matter

I loved it Australia last month, when I was out on my dad's bike, even the scooter riders nodded at me when I went past.......brilliant

I'm a definite 'nodder' at other bikes who or whatever and a kicker whenever a nice cage driver lets me past, a habit I picked up when living in Belgium for a while, most 'european' bikers appeat to be kickers, saves taking your hands off the bars.
