LOL. It also adds stability due to weight...

Maybe I'll just paint it green and drive to sea.. Fishes like grrrreen, don't want to scare them.

I contacted Suzuki Finland with the pictures of the fairings and asked if they could provide me with the fixtures. They replied that as there are now full fairing available for the curvy they can't find them. Does this mean that all curvy lowers are non-oem?

Surprising - need to order them from UK / Germany then.

Did you give them that part number from the link I put on? Should have thought they could order them in.

My top-tip so far - when you ask at a hardware store what type of filler would be the best and they say "gelcoat" then take the other one. The gelcoat is a pain to sand though it might be more durable I'd advice using it only in the final stages... I got carried away with it and now have a lot of sanding to do. The good thing in this is that at least all the scrapes are properly filled now so I should get a smooth surface eventually.

5 months to do the sanding, even at my pace of doing half an hour at a time I'll probably have time to do these mistakes more than once.

When I was doing mine, I was very glad for my electric sander, just a wee detail sander- really speeds things up, and with fine paper it's not too clumsy. Best £10 I spent in that project. I like Isopon P40 for filler, it smells like my grandad's garage. Eh, and it seems to work too It sands fairly easily. Personally, in your position I'd do the repairs but get it professionally painted, that's a whole other game and very hard to get right. I painted mine, won't do it again.

Never heard of using acetone for plastic welding, I use a soldering iron, messy but it works.

The OEM lowers weren't made by Suzuki, they were a TCP Aerodynamics part, but sold under the Suzuki brand. Not sure if that's any help to you or not...

I've been thinking of getting a professional painter to do the job, but they hate to paint on surfaces they haven't done them selves. Need to find a suitable primer that doesn't react with the fillers etc..

Here is the status so far. The circle shows where there was a hole, the dotted line shows the biggest crack and the othter lines show the road rash (which was almost through the plastic). So, it's not pretty, but in one piece!

Yep, true that. Especially if you use random Halfords/pep boys stuff. I use one of the industry standards, so no danger there but it does bear consideration. Plus, no sprayer wants to put good work on bad prep, since they'll get the blame most likely, and it's bad for business.
