Default Finally photos of GSXR sidestand swap

Without further ado:

The bike before the swap:

The bike before the swap, with a half brick under the stand!

The bike after the swap

Just to avoid any jiggery pokery, I deliberately left the doorframe in the left of each shot- you can see true vertical there.

The stand with its minor mods:

There's a spacer in the top "fork", you can't see it but it's there- it's either that or drill out the original bracket hole to 14mm. This way, 21Quest did the hard bit. The fork needs to be widened by about 1mm. The rest is all optional, I took off some unneccesary bits and modified the spring mount by shortening it- this tightens the springs by increasing their angle. Then, sprayed with Chassis Black.

From the front:

From the side:

I'd sooner it was just a bit less leaned over, but it makes a big difference. I get another half a litre in the tank too!

Save youself hard work and just get an SRAD 600 side stand, its a direct fit.

Yep, you told me that AFTER I'd done it Apparently SRAD is shorter, though for most raised SV's I'm sure it'd be fine.

My bike is raised, I might go the SRAD route. Northy's way seems awful long winded.

Don't know. Probably...

For reference, mine is down probably 15mm at the front, and up around 3 inches at the tail- should give you an idea of whether yours'll work with SRAD or not.

I was thinking mine didn't lean that much even with my overly long shock then I read that.

Cheers
Ben

No, I have fundamentlaly no idea But if 940mm is an average standard height, as I found on SV Rider, then I'm up 70mm at the tail. I think. SVRash, can you remember?
