I now have the exhaust, nobody really wanted to touch it because the twin exit cans are quite well made, everything that can be welded together is... Have dremel, will grind weld's.

I will take it's dismembered bits to CCC on monday and see if they will put it back together for me, at about half it's origional length...

I hope their exhausts are better made than their race fairings. Truly appalling is the kindest way I can describe them. After three hours of trying to fit a brand new one to a straight CBR600 I gave up and bought a BB Plastics one, which went straight on with no modification needed. The A16 one didn't line up at any point on the bike or fairing brackets.

Really? Did you get on to them about this?

Took ages to get my sleeve sorted if I'm honest (hence why I suggested to Stonsie to go to them if the can he has is a 120mm diameter can). Did a good job of it though, but the strap was a right runaround, had to get a 140mm strap made to fit the can, took nearly 3 weeks, ended up re-fashioning the old (bent) strap as I was sick of waiting for the strap to arrive (and delaying my bike getting back on the road). When it did arrive it wasn't the right shape and when I reshaped it, it wasn't the right size! Left the old one on, didn't bother phoning them to complain as I just couldn't be bothered...

My can does sound really tasty now though.

Tomorrow I will have a good go at this can, because of the position of the various dings in the sleeve it will not come much further back than the strap... Earplugs i think.

I offered it up to my bike and thought "hmmm, it would be short but if I can push those dings out.... So I set to with the dremel set to annihilate, I soon had no cutting discs left and an exhaust in many pieces, the inner perforated pipe is welded at both ends on these.

After some dent pushing, hand filing, trial and lots of error followed by massaging the now shortened internal pipe work with a hammer to fit both exits it was off to see a mate with a welder to get the internals welded to the exit tubes.

Because he thinks I’m mad he lent me a riveter and gave me a fist full of rivets

Packing chopped down to suit

Taking shape

Packing back in

Inlet back on, not welded to make it re-buildable, and given a good polish up

Give it a badge

Comparison shot

Once the hanger strap arrives it can be road tested, but it has been trial run on my SV and a mates B6 bandit, its born to be loud

Yesterday while fitting my new brake lines, which ment throwing my tarty blue brake fluid* away (Booo) the can had to come off.... Well, it would be rude not to since the hanger had arrived.

And today it was off to show my friend 'Bully' what his welding had gone into, and I kindly let him nip it up the road so I could hear what everyone else hears, only had my phone with me so excuse the quality (or lack of it)

It doesn't really sound that loud in reality, but not far off.

*EBC superblue racing fluid, had it left over from helping with a mates track day car.
