well I have done it!! curvy 02. - well you ALL know my bike
yes I know I should go up on the back and get a longer chain.. and save on chain wear and petrol.. but, wanted to see if I liked it first for a tenner !.. then if I do. I can get the whole new set and sell my new front sprocket on . so- results? I LIKE IT !!!!!! I only had a quick blast. but wow the acceleration was awesome- felt like a different bike.. .. cant say anything about top end or motoway iding or wheelies cos aint done any of those yet. but will report back on the above- especially the petrol useage (miles to a tank) and if I am bouncing off the red line all the time.. first feelings though are I am going to like it.. bit scary .. doing it myself- riding it knowing it was ME who put the back wheel back on and the chain etc.. but then I knwo I did it right and double checked everything.. so I should relax.. it was only a half hour job,, and 15 of that were borrowing have right tools off my neighbour.. didnt have a big enough socket for the sprocket or the back wheel nut!! must buy some so what size are they?.. anyone know.. and cost?.. removal etc and replacememt were simple.. mainly due to info on here.(thank you Mr Vine ) from an old thread.. must say though the sprocket nut didnt even seem tight . came undone simple.. so its all back together and I am chuffed.. looking forward to a long ride and ssome difeerent roads and letting you all know how it is.. at this juncture though - it put a smile on my face so Iam happy.. couple of Q's?? will the engine get hotter quicker now? will it wear my chain real real fast or take ages? and is it correct its better to go bigger on the back and longer chain ? thanks..

what size rear sprocket are you running?? i have yet to take the bike out with the 14 tooth on front. got a 47 on the rear so will be interesting. |

I dont do motorway-
only time I will is up to the norf south and to the AR .. but I can blast down a local dual carrigeway.. I didnt remove the wheel.. just slackened it off to enable the chain to pop off the sprocket.. and then to adjust to the correct tension afterwards.. ,,,
